Come to the library every Friday to enjoy fun games, yummy snacks and great people! Board games are purchased or altered so they are accessible for all! For adults.  This program takes place in-person at LAMP Pittsburgh 4724 Baum Boulevard, Pittsburgh, PA 15213. Reservations are optional.

Join LAMP for a virtual author visit with Jessica Shaw, author of the 2026 PA One Book: The Great Cookie Kerfuffle, with illustrations by Pauline Gregory. We will be streaming the event live, with Great Cookie Kerfuffle themed activities and snacks. This event is for children birth to age five years old, along with their families and caregivers. This program will take place in-person at LAMP Pittsburgh 4724 Baum Boulevard, Pittsburgh, PA 15213. Reservations are optional.

The Pennsylvania One Book initiative is a valuable program that highlights the importance of early literacy development in preschoolers and the significance of reading early and often to children, as well as engaging them in conversation and other activities around books. The program has remained successful in part due to the partnership of collaborating agencies that all support early childhood literacy efforts. Join us for our Hybrid Book Club on Thursday, April 16 from 1-2 pm  In honor of Pittsburgh hosting the 2026 NFL Draft, this month’s book selection is Behind the Yoi: The Life of Myron Cope, Legendary Pittsburgh Steelers Broadcaster by Dan Joseph with Elizabeth Cope (DBC 31321). We are excited to have author Dan Joseph join us for the discussion! LAMP’s own recording studio produced the audio version of the book.

In honor of the draft coming to Pittsburgh, join us for a special draft-edition Tech Walk-in Open Session! This friendly gathering invites LAMP patrons to share ideas about making technology easier and more accessible for everyone. Library staff will be available to assist with technology needs and guide an open conversation. We’ll highlight applications connected to this citywide event, while remaining open to other technology-related questions and discussions. Bring your thoughts and experiences, and don’t miss Tactile Tuesday afterward!

Once a month, LAMP Pittsburgh is holding a Tactile and Braille Tech Discussion Group. The participants engage in an open discussion; experience embossed, Swell Form, and 3-D-printed items; and explore their ideas and interests on the topic of tactile accessibility. Those who gather also learn about the tools and software used to produce tactile objects.
