The topic for the Thursday, May 21, 2026, Smart Speaking to the Smart Speaker online program will be Creating the Personalized Experience: Effectively Setting Volume, Speed and Tone in the My Talking Book Skill on Alexa.

After the presentation and demonstration, we will answer any questions you have about the My Talking Books skill for Alexa-enabled smart speakers.

Join us for stories, songs and action rhymes. During this 30 minute program, families will meet new friends and develop early literacy skills. For children ages birth to five years and their caregivers.

Come to the library every Friday to enjoy fun games, yummy snacks and great people! Board games are purchased or altered so they are accessible for all! For adults.  This program takes place in-person at LAMP Pittsburgh 4724 Baum Boulevard, Pittsburgh, PA 15213. Reservations are optional.

Join us for the “Tech Walk-in Open Session,” a friendly gathering where LAMP patrons can share ideas about making technology easier for everyone to use. Library staff will be on hand to assist with technology needs and facilitate open conversation. Bring your thoughts and experiences as we chat about tools that help people with different needs. Don’t miss out—stick around afterward for Tactile Tuesday!

Once a month, LAMP Pittsburgh is holding a Tactile and Braille Tech Discussion Group. The participants engage in an open discussion; experience embossed, Swell Form, and 3-D-printed items; and explore their ideas and interests on the topic of tactile accessibility. Those who gather also learn about the tools and software used to produce tactile objects.

The topic for the Tuesday, May 26, 2026, That All May eRead online program will be Navigating DAISY Files on Your eReader.

In the remaining time, we will answer any questions you have about the NLS Braille eReader.
